Grab a cup of coffee, tea, or boba 😉 and have a seat. For this post, we are going to catch up. It’s been over a month since I last blogged. Second quarter has been so hectic with one midterm after the other that it’s been really hard to find the time to do photoshoots or just write. Right now, it’s a Friday night, and there are zero excuses!
This quarter, I’m taking four classes that total up to 17 units. The classes are statistics, chemistry, genetics, and ethnic studies. It’s been very busy but manageable. I start my day at 9:30AM and either go to class or study in the library. Then, I’ll go eat dinner and see my friends at night. On Wednesdays and Fridays, my last class ends at 8:20PM, which kind of stinks but what can I do? That’s basically my routine on the weekdays. I really want to do a vlog of what my day is like. Would you want to see that?
At the start of this quarter, I told myself that I wanted to start attending church regularly and meet more people. Thank God I’ve been able to do both! I started attending Kairos Christian Church, which has a lot of members from UCSD. It’s nice to know that I have that community at school to go to. Through church, I’ve been able to meet a lot of sweet people, including my friends Lora and Cesia. I’ve realized that it’s hard to stay in touch with friends in college because we don’t have the same classes everyday and we live in different parts of school. However, I’m really grateful to have met these two because seeing them during the weekends uplifts me.
Last quarter, I felt kind of lost in different ways. Don’t get me wrong. I’m still trying to figure things out, but I think I have a better sense of how things are supposed to be. Going back to church and just trusting God has helped a lot. Upon entering college, you want to try to fit in because you don’t know anyone. You’re vulnerable. That’s what happened to me. I wasn’t open about my faith, and I was definitely trying to appeal to people by not being my true self. It left me feeling empty by the time last quarter ended. It took me so long to realize that I don’t have to try to be someone I wasn’t or try to get people to like me because I am loved by God. That realization was the best feeling ever. This quarter, I’ve also been accepting that things happen the way they are supposed to be, so there’s no need to push things into place or freak out about the future. This is something that I struggle with because I tend to overthink. There is a joy that comes with knowing that your struggles are in God’s hands.
That’s been my life update so far. I will try my best to post more often because blogging really does make me happy. Here are some spring outfits for school that I wore throughout the week. The temperature has been in the upper 60s and lower 70s, which is why I’m dressed for spring in February. I love SoCal weather!
