An outfit isn’t complete without accessories. Whenever I think of the word accessory, I picture extravagant or flashy jewelry, which I am not the biggest fan of. I like completing my outfits with subtle details. If you’ve been following my blog, you may have noticed that there are a few pieces that are consistent within each outfit that I create. In this post, I’m sharing seven basic accessories that I find myself always using. I’ve also put together some pieces within a certain price range so that you can shop around. Just click the links!
This is going to be the first post of my Build a Better Closet series. I’ve learned that the best way to create your wardrobe is to buy basic pieces that you can pair with other pieces to create different outfits. Sometimes, buying something that you only end up wearing once is not worth it. I hope this helps!
7 basic accessories that you need in your closet:
1. A watch
A watch is my favorite accessory. If you look at all of my outfit posts, most of the time I’m wearing one. Watches are classy and they match with nearly any type of outfit- whether it be casual, semi formal, etc. The watch I’m wearing in the photo above is from Kate Spade. In the first photo, the watches left to right are from: Kate Spade, Fossil, and Kate Spade. If you’re looking for a durable but stylish watch, I highly recommend Fossil and Kate Spade. Their watches can be pricey, but if you’re wearing a watch everyday, I would say that the price is worth it. It’s an investment ;).

2. A Baseball Cap
Let’s be honest. You can’t have a perfect hair day everyday. Lately, the weather has been pretty hot, and I don’t feel like using heat products on my hair all the time. Baseball caps are perfect for disguising a bad hair day. I’m a huge Warriors fan (I live in the Bay Area!), which is why I’m wearing this Warriors cap. Any Warriors or basketball fans out there?!

3. Stud Earrings
Just like a watch, stud earrings make their appearance in almost all of my outfits. There are so many different cute stud earrings styles! I love wearing these neutral colored studs from Kate Spade since they can be paired with any color, and they’re not too extravagant.

4. SUNGLASSES
Whenever I drive, I can’t leave the house without my sunnies. Sunglasses are accessories that also serve as a personal necessity- to help protect one’s eyes from the sun. Sunglasses are another item that should be invested in. I’ve found that it’s better to spend a bit more on sunglasses since the cheaper ones tend to break easily. The glasses that I always wear are from Kate Spade. If you haven’t caught on yet, I love Kate Spade’s accessories, haha! If you go to a Kate Spade outlet, you can usually get their accessories for an additional half off.
