Whenever I’m not working or studying, I love exploring San Diego. Since I grew up in the Bay Area, I always thought that I’d be a Nor-Cal girl, but living in San Diego for the past 4 years has convinced me that my heart belongs to Southern California. Compared to the Bay Area, it’s always sunny in So-Cal and you’ll never run out of things to do. You can go sight seeing, visit the beach, hike, eat amazing food, and so much more. Today, I’m going to be sharing some pictures from a recent date night in San Diego. It’s feels so weird to talk about dating on my blog hahaha! Let’s just hope my family doesn’t see this because I already know that they’ll roast me for it.
My date and I had an early dinner at Cesarina since this restaurant is always packed during the evening and tables are reserved ahead of time. Cesarina is located in Point Loma, San Diego and is honestly one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to! Immediately upon entering Cesarina, you’ll notice how aesthetic everything is, including the decor, menu, and dish-ware. Don’t let the aesthetics fool you because their food is absolutely amazing. To start off, they give a variety of complementary bread such as focaccia and a delicious tomato-based bread. For our appetizer, we ordered a crispy octopus plate that included potatoes and burrata cheese. If you love seafood, then you have to order this appetizer because the octopus melts in your mouth. I am a big fan of seafood pasta, so I ordered their spaghetti allo scoglio, which consists of a fresh tomato sauce as well as shrimp, clams, and mussels. Their pasta tasted so indescribably fresh and had the perfect bite to it. I also really appreciated the fact that the restaurant had vegan alternatives to classic desserts such as tiramisu!!
You’re probably thinking, enough about the food. Spill the tea on your date! If you read this far into the post, then you deserve to know how the date went haha! This guy that I’ve known since my freshman year of college was in San Diego for the weekend and asked if I wanted to grab dinner. Cesarina had been on my radar for the longest time, so I suggested that we go there. Since we’ve been close for four years, it was nice to catch up and share our future plans. We’re both about to enter the next phase of our life; I’m hopefully going to start medical school next year and he just graduated and accepted a full time position.
After dinner, we went to a popular lookout spot in Point Loma called Sunset Cliffs and walked down as close as we could towards the water. Afterwards, we strolled around the surrounding neighborhoods because the houses there are huge and look like they’re straight out of HGTV. Overall, it was a 10/10 date with amazing food, good company, and beautiful views. He even took my pictures haha! Will there be another date? Stay tuned to find out ;). If you’re ever in San Diego, Cesarina and Sunset Cliffs are spots I highly recommend for sightseeing and a romantic date night.
